Lord Finesse is one of my all-time favorite producers. Very few can make their drums knock like Finesse does, and his 12-bit minimalist, Jazz-keys-driven beats drenched in delay are synonymous with classic-era NY beats to me. His rhyme style is also the father to Big L’s. Check out the D.I.T.C.’s legend as he breaks down some of his favorite sample flips.
