Last night Jelani from Da Ill Spot hosted a dope show out at Aladdin Jr 2 in Pomona. Right on the square of Pomona’s hip little arts district, the lineup featured Living Legends/Mystik Journeymen’s LuckyIAm, Rebels To The Grain, along with other local LA acts.

The highlight for me, of course, was Shaz Illyork at Starvin B. Bringing that tuff Queens/East Coast hard rock raps and a livewire stage show, they tore it down with energy & hunger that I haven’t seen in a long time. You can’t just bring energy though, you gotta have skills, and these cats brought those in abundance. So refreshing to see that old New York rap back with no compromise. I really hope these cats see success, especially in this day & age.
