Hypnotic Brass Ensemble was crazy dope last last night. I wasn’t sure what to expect out of their live show, but it was amazing & I still haven’t fully grasped how dope it was. They seamlessly traversed from spiritual/free Jazz, to straight breakbeats (w/ a little Hip-Hop), to DC Go-Go flavors to even a little New Orleans drumline bounce funk.
It was insane. The mother & father of the members added amazing personal depth to the performance, and they were both experts on their instruments and Phil Cohran As a whole, I’m still reveling in what I saw so I don’t want to write any more, but here’s this:
